Water Supply

Source Water used in TEDA comes from Erwangzhuang Reservior in Baodi County of Tianjin, the transfer station of the project of diverting water from the Luan River to Tianjin. It is transported through 52 kilometer pipeline to TEDA Water Purification Plant. The pipe diameter is 1,200-1,400mm.
Current  Capacity The total capacity of TEDA is 484,000 tons per day.
The daily capacity of TEDA Water Purification Plant is 300,000 tons.
No. 5 Water Plant of Tanggu District adopts the water supply pipeline whose daily capacity is 30,000 tons.Underground water from Yuelong area with good conditions is transferred into TEDA with 70,000 tons, and also recycled water of 25,000 tons.
Mode Currently, the total length of the municipal pipeline of water supply in TEDA is nearly 307 kilometers. The double return water supply and loop water distribution system are available in the areas with pipelines. The water pipeline already covers 100% of the established areas of TEDA. Generally two water supply interfaces are provided to the enterprises for production, everyday use and fire fighting. The loop water distribution system is adopted to ensure continued water supply and to prevent the stagnant water from going bad.
Recent Planning As for the Recent planning, the total capacity of the Plant is expected to be 450,000 m3 /day.
 
 
Fees and charges:  
 
Users in TEDA are supplied with standard running water that is up to the national standard of drinkable water(with an inlet pressure above 0.2 MPA) and charged the following fees.
  • Deposit for Temporary Water Use:
Temporary users shall pay a deposit for the water supply equipments at construction sites. If equipments remain intact upon the completion of construction projects, the deposit will be returned. Standard: 1,000 yuan/equipment
  • Metered Water Rate:

Users shall pay Metered Water Rate and Waste Water Treatment Fee according to the meter reading. The standard is as follows(Note 1):

Note 1: Since April 1, 2010 adjusted the water price, the zone of the water selling price adjusted accordingly.
 
Note 2: Enterprises with self-built waste water treatment facilities that can meet Grade II of state standard can be exempted from waste water treatment fee.
 
Note 3: This category covers beverage, brewery and tobacco used water of hotels, restaurants and entertainment sector.
 
Note 4: This category covers water used by luxury bath facilities and drinking water manufacturing enterprises.

  • Fire Prevention Fee:

Users (residential areas excluded) shall pay Fire Prevention Fee according to specific caliber of their water meters. The Fee will be used to compensate water usage in fire fighting. The standard is:

  • Price of Recycled Water:

Recycled Water in this context refers to recycled and desalted RO (Reverse Osmosis) water. The price is 5.70yuan/ cubic meter (including a waste water treatment fee of 1.20 yuan/ cubic meter).
