Mode In TEDA, the drainage system is featured with rainwater and sewage separation, upgrading and relay discharge. Rainwater is discharged into Bohai Sea from West to East and from South to North, and sewage from the south to the north to Bohai Sea. In TEDA, the industrial sewage and domestic sewage are transported through a sewage disposal system to the sewage disposal plant for processing and then discharged to the north to Bohai Sea. In flood season, rainy days and snowy days, rainwater and sewage are discharged through the rainwater disposal system.
Capacity Currently, the total length of existing drainage pipeline in operation is 887 kilometers. The length of sewage pipeline is 347 kilometers and that of rainwater pipeline 540 kilometers. There are 15 large and medium rainwater and sewage pumping stations and 2 sluice gates of the sea. The ultimate capacity of sewage discharge is 23.25 m3 /second and that of rainwater is 231.16 m3 /second.
Long-term Planning The total ultimate capacity of the rainwater disposal system, which includes 16 pumping stations, among which 7 for rain, and 3 for sewage, 7 for mixed. There are 2 sewage disposal plants, The total ultimate capacity of disposal system, is expected to reach 7.18 m3 /second.
Sewage Disposal Plant The whole set of equipments of TEDA Sewage Disposal Plant are introduced from Gooktech Company of Norway. The Sequencing Batch Reactor, namely, SBR DAT-IAT technology, is adopted. The sewage disposal capacity of the 1st plant  is 100,000 tons/day.
Electroplate Effluent Processing Center The Electroplate Effluent Processing Center of TEDA adopts the overseas advanced technologies to process a wide range of electroplate effluent. The heavy metal can be retrieved by means of electroplating. The Center has China's first advanced vehicle processing device for on-the-spot effluent processing in the enterprises.
TEDA Water Technologies Co., Ltd. TEDA Water Technologies Co., Ltd. is China's first gray water plant that adopts two membrane technologies to rejuvenate water on a large scale. The quality of rejuvenated water is better than what is required by USEPA and WHO for drinking water. As for the first phase project, the daily capacity of rejuvenating water by means of micro-filtration is 35,000 tons and 25,000 tons by means of reserve osmosis. Currently, water is already supplied to some users in TEDA. (Supply falls short of demand.) The daily capacity of the Plant is expected to rise eventually to 50,000 tons by means of reverse osmosis so that more demands of users can be met.
