Digitalized TEDA
TEDA provides optic fiber access for its residential areas and buildings. Four optic fiber loops that stretch 40 kilometers and run at a speed of 2 G have shaped a transmission network together with the surrounding facilities. At the end of 2007, TEDA boasted optic fiber length of 36,300 core kilometers and communication cable 3,585 aperture kilometers. Total bandwidth of Internet outlet was 51G.
Broadband Network covers the whole development area, and provides access to optic fiber, Intranet, ADSL and VDSL. Broadband services of 1-10M are available to individual clients; services of 10-100M are available to company clients and 1000M to residential areas.
Internet Data Center (IDC) is built and operated by Lantai Scientific and Technological Corporation invested by IBM. It is the most advanced IDC in north China that has 308 computer selves and may handle 1,500 servers. The IDC will provide the best information service for enterprises in the development area.
E-government is in intensive application. The main websites are open for public and online business is well under operation.
Call Center provides consultation and maintenance as well as handles inquiry and complaints 24 hours a day via a hotline at +86-22-25201111,+86-22-25201114.
Several main Chinese telecommunication operators such as China Telecom, CNC and China Unicom provide services of PSTN, ISDN, IN, IP, DDN, FR and X.25 at the development area.
Broadband network at the development area Broadband network at TEDA officially went into operation on June 22, 2001. TEDA Internet Data Center IDC has high-speed broadband network, highly functional Intranet, safe and reliable computer rooms, professionalized management and perfect information service platform that is user friendly. IDC may provide basic Internet platform services and different value-added services. Supposing that broadband were blood vessel of information, IDC would be its heart.
TEDA IDC sits at Tianjin University Scientific and Technological Park. It covers 3,000 square meters, has 308 computer shelves and may hold 1,500 servers. The IDC is an information infrastructure project with the largest scale and the most advanced technology in North China. It will better serve the E-government, E-commerce and E-community of the development area to meet the demand of the development area and Tianjin city, and become an important information node in North China. TEDA IDC is operated by Lantai Scientific and Technological Corporation jointly established by E-TEDA and IBM at the development area. Lantai is the second joint venture invested by IBM to mainly offer IT services. It takes TEDA IDC as its core business and provides services like CPU leasing and trusting; email management system, human resources management system, management practice service and desktop management service. The IDC will provide high added-value consultation on information as well as other services such as development and project implementation for government and enterprises.

E-government E-government is at the forefront of Digitalized Development Area. It is to rebuild the government of the development area by applying IT for the purpose of transforming the governmental working style, improving working efficiency and investment climate and driving forward the construction of a digitalized development area.

Call Center The main E-government website is a showcase of the development area based on emails and web pages, while Calling Center is another showcase based on telephone and fax. TEDA heads the whole country in applying CTI in government businesses. Enterprises and residents may enjoy consultation, inquiry, maintenance and complaints services for 24 hours a day as long as they remember a telephone number that is 25201111. Calling Center has on the one hand released the work burden of government officials, and on the other hand supervised the practice of handling the problems with its information system. It also timely reports the issue of common concern to senior officials in a bid to improve government services.
