Geology & Climate:

Located close to the Bohai Sea and adjacent to Beijing, Tianjin is provided with advantageous conditions for living and business.

Tianjin is geographically located between latitude 38o42'and 45o15'N and longitude 116o42' -118o04'E, to northeast of North China Plain and at the backward position of Haihe River, with the Bohai Sea locates to her east and Mountain Yan to her north. For the Tianjin area, it is 189 km long from south to north and 117 km long from east to west. The total area size is 11919.7 km2. Tianjin is a strategic city leading to China's capital of Beijing, which is 137km away from Tianjin downtown.

The geological features can be divided into four kinds as mountains hills, plains and seashores, in which plains dominant.

Tianjin has a warm temperate and semi-humid continental monsoon climate with annual average temperature 12.3oC. In July, the hottest month, the average temperature is 26oCoC with the highest recorded temperature 39.7oCoC on 4th, Jul. 1972; the average temperature of the coldest Jan. is -4oCoC with the lowest temperature record -22.9oCoC in 1966. The average annual rainfall is 561.3mm.
