TIS was established in 1995 by the TEDA governing body to provide world-class education for children residing in TEDA. It is an International day school offering Pre K-12 international education. It offers senior students the PSAT and SAT pre-university tests.
TIS campus is comprised of four modern, climate-controlled buildings housing general classrooms; physics, biology and chemistry labs; computer lab; library/media center; ESOL classrooms; full-sized gymnasium and two cafeterias.
TIS is a member of EARCOS and is accredited with WASC. It is also a member of the Association of Chinese and Mongolian International Schools (ACAMIS) and participate in intramural sports and cultural activities regularly through this organization.

Tuition and fees The government of TEDA heavily subsidizes all school fees so that foreigners investing in TEDA may receive a high standard of international education at a reasonable price. The following tuition amounts should be paid in US currency:

New students over 5 years old may be required to sit a placement test.
All students are required to be in class from the first day of school, August 26th for the first semester. New students will be required to have an interview and placement tests on the 25th of August. The first day of the second semester is February 2nd. New students in the second semester will be required to have placement tests on the 2nd of February.
Tuition Payment & Refund Policy
Enrollments for the Regular Program are made for the entire year. A student may request and receive an 80% refund of the amount paid within 10 days of the first day of the school term. No refunds will be given after the first 10 days of the school term. Returning students have a place reserved in the school for the next consecutive school year however, they must pay tuition by the Late Registration date or risk losing their place in the school. Late payments will incur a penalty. If fees are paid after September 10th and February 10th (second semester) a penalty of $20 US per day will be added to the school fees unless arrangements have been made through the school administration. Students joining the school mid-year will be required to pay for one full-year tuition. This is also non-refundable after the first ten days of school.

Curriculum The Curriculum of the TEDAInternationalSchoolfollows the model and standards of learning from Canadaand the United States.
It includes pre-kindergarten through eleventh grade instruction in English, Mathematics, Science and Social Studies.
All students participate in Computer Learning, Physical Education, Art and Music.
TIS students also benefit from instruction in Chinese, field trip experiences, and after-school programs and clubs.

High School:
Harbor View is unique in many respects, but perhaps the most interesting feature is its fusion of Western and Chinese educational techniques. Students have an opportunity to follow both Ontariobased curriculum in English, and Chinese curriculum taught in Chinese. The co-operative and synergistic way in which their Canadian and Chinese teachers work together is an excellent model for the students; it provides them with a first-hand experience of what it means to be a global citizen. Their graduates who earn the Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) will be qualified to attend universities in Canadaand the United States.
