The relocation ceremony of TEDA Branch of the Agriculture Bank of China was held in TEDA a few days ago. The Agricultural Bank of China is taking advantage of the new development opportunity of Tianjin New Coastal District (TNCD) and has made a strategic plan of taking the lead with its business development in the TNCD, taking control of the commanding point of competition, and propelling its overall business development through supporting the TNCD. It has a plan to double its business capacity within three years through supporting the TNCD´s development and construction. The TEDA Branch has decided to give the TNCD appropriate resource and policy support in various respects such as economic capital allocation, expense allocation, credit authorization, and network construction. It will provide services to the TNCD´s major industries and key enterprises.

The opening ceremony of Grammer Interior (Tianjin) Co., Ltd. was held in TEDA on May 23. With a total investment of 5.81 million euros, Grammer Interior (Tianjin) Co., Ltd. is the first subsidiary that the Grammer AG of Germany established in China. It also is the only German wholly-owned enterprise of automobile interior in TEDA. It consists of an Automotive Division and a Seating Systems Division. The Automotive Division mainly provides interior products for a number of top auto manufacturers of the world such as BMW, Audi, Volkswagen, Benz, and GM. It possesses patent technologies in key auto part development etc. The Seating Systems Division is Grammer AG´s focus of production and sales in the Asian market. It now has such production lines of foaming, welding, and assembly, and its products are mainly used in such aspects as construction machines, agricultural machines, forklift trucks, buses, trucks, and trains.

Toyota FAW (Tianjin) Dies Co., Ltd. held a completion and appreciation ceremony in its TEDA factory a few days ago.

Co-established in TEDA by Toyota Motor Corporation and China FAW Group Corporation, Toyota FAW (Tianjin) Dies Co., Ltd. is a large press die manufacturer for auto body part production. It mainly produces large automobile outer panel dies indispensable to the key parts for whole cars. With a total investment of over 50 million dollars and a registered capital of 12 million dollars, the company was established in March of 2004 and constructed in two phases. Its first factory went into operation in December of 2004, and its second factory was completed and went into operation in May 22 this year. With the completion of its second factory, the capacity of the company will go up from producing dies for three types of cars each year to six types of cars each year. Besides, the company has a plan to export its dies to Europe from this year on and provide dies for Toyota´s global factories step by step, which indicates that this project will be officially integrated into Toyota´s global manufacture layout.

2006 International Mobile Phone Industry Exhibition and Forum was solemnly held in Tianjin Binhai International Convention & Exhibition Center on May 18. It was jointly held by Tianjin Commission of Commerce, Tianjin Economic Commission, Informatization Office of Tianjin Municipal Government, and TEDA Administrative Commission. With an area of 18,000 square meters, 632 booths, and the decorated booths accounting for more than 40% of the total area, the 2006 exhibition was much better than last exhibition.

The three large platforms for exhibition and display, forum for exchange, and business matching constructed by the organizing committee of the 2006 exhibition with great effort further enlarged the scope of business opportunities and information for all of the participants.
