Tianjin Kameda Food Co., Ltd. was co-established in TEDA a few days ago by Master Kong Bakery (BVI) Co., Ltd. and Kameda Seika Co., Ltd. of Japan with a total investment of 12 million dollars.
Being the largest rice cracker producer in Japan at present, Kameda Seika Co., Ltd. cooperates with Tingyi Group, China’s snack food magnate, in the development and production of rice cracker products made from nonglutinous rice. Rice Cracker is a kind of snack food containing low calorie, a variety of nutrition constituents, and no additives. It has become a popular snack among consumers because it is suitable for all young and old in every season. Japanese rice cracker products are taking the lead in particular. People’s choice of food tends to diversify with the economic development of China. This cooperation will popularize rice crackers throughout Mainland China and establish an image of a healthy and delicious product among Chinese consumers. The sales value of rice crackers produced by this company is expected to go up to 3 billion yuan in the Chinese market. |

Its products are exported mainly to such countries and regions as Europe, America, Japan, and Australia. It is estimated that the company will have an output value of 260 million yuan, pre-tax profit of 35 million yuan, foreign exchange income of 20 million dollars through export by 2006, and an output value of 480 million yuan, pre-tax profit of 70 million yuan, and foreign exchange income of 45 million dollars through export by 2007.

| Foundation Stone Laying Ceremony of John Deere (Tianjin) Company, Limited Held in TEDA |

The Foundation Stone Laying Ceremony of John Deere (Tianjin) Company, Limited was held in TEDA a few days ago. Deere & Company is one of the world's famous multinational companies, and is also one of the five oldest industrial companies in the United States. It will establish an R&D center in TEDA.
As is known, Deere & Company is a large listed multinational company headquartered in Moline of Illinois. It's the world's leading agricultural equipment manufacturer. It employs 47,000 people worldwide and has manufacturing bases in 16 countries. With fixed assets of 18 billion dollars and a yearly turnover of 19.9 billion dollars, it is one of the Global Fortune 500 and the US Fortune 200 companies.
With an investment of 40 million dollars and a total area of 300,000 square meters for phase I, the project of John Deere (Tianjin) Company, Limited is mainly to construct a large modernized combined factory building. The construction is expected to be completed in January, 2006 for production commencement. John Deere (Tianjin) Company, Limited will adopt the most advanced technologies, equipment, and techniques in large-scale manufacturing of the gearbox transmission system to support the global John Deere tractor series.

| Kumho Tire Choosing TEDA for its Global R&D Center |
Kumho Asiana Group of South Korea is going to set up its global R&D center in TEDA. TEDA and Kumho Tire Co., Inc. signed an investment memorandum a few days ago. Lying opposite to the West Zone Investment Service Center, Kumho Tire’s R&D center will be the biggest R&D center in TEDA after it is completed.
After its construction of a manufacturing base in the West Zone in this spring, Kumho Tire has the plan to set up a non-independent accounting R&D center in the West Zone. Investment for this project goes in two phases. Kumho invested about 30million dollars and used land of about 22,000 square meters in early 2005. This R&D center will provide Kumho Tire’s enterprises in China with technology research services and will take the place of the research institute in Gwangju of South Korea as headquarters of Kumho Tire’s global R&D center. This center is to come into use in 2007.
As is known, Kumho Tire Tianjin Co., Inc. is the largest foreign-funded enterprise in the West Zone at present, and is the first enterprise to set up an R&D center in the West Zone. Investment for phase I of this project is 185 million dollars, and there will be an increase of 130 million dollars for phase II. The final output will be 10.4 million radial tires each year. This project covers a total area of 310,000 square meters with the floorage of phase I being 140,000 square meters. It will commence production in July, 2006. |

| Kennametal (China) Co., Ltd. Beginning Construction in the WEST ZONE of TEDA |
Kennametal (China) Co., Ltd. began its construction in the West Zone of TEDA in an all-around way a few days ago.
As is known, Kennametal (China) Co., Ltd. is established in China by Kennametal Inc. of America, the world’s leading metal-cutting product and abrasion-resisting part manufacturer. It will be one of Kennametal’s largest and most important global manufacturing bases after it is wholly completed. In addition to a manufacturing department, the company is going to set up the world’s leading design and engineering departments in the West Zone. With an investment of 31 million dollars and a total area of 70,000 square meters, phase I of the project will be completed in May, 2006 for production commencement. |

| TEDA Chemical Industrial Park Welcomes Four Newcomers |

Recently, the Plate Awarding & Land Contract Signing Ceremony of China Fine Chemical (Tianjin) Park was grandly held in TEDA. Four enterprises including Uniton (Tianjin) Chemical Co., Ltd., Tianjin Acrylic Chemical Technology Co., Ltd., Taiding(Tianjin) Environment Technology Co., Ltd., and Rotachem Company signed land use right transfer contracts with TEDA Chemical Industrial Park respectively. While paying intensive attention on petrochemical source projects and the integration of refinery and chemical industries, TEDA also highlights its downstream high-value-added fine chemical industries as well as related R&D and incubation centers. A further consummated industrial chain will effectively promote the influence of local chemical industry across the Circum-Bohai Region, Northeast China, Northwest China and North China. |

| Taiding (Tianjin) Environment Technology Co. Ltd. Signing Land Contract with the Chemical Industrial Park of TEDA |
Taiding (Tianjin) Environment Technology Co., Ltd., a company specializing in resource recycling, arrived at the Chemical Industrial Park of TEDA a few days ago. This company is jointly established by Taiwan Glory Peak Inc., Shanghai Icon Electronic System Engineering Co., Ltd., and Tianjin Lvtong Environmental Protection Engineering Apparatus Research Co., Ltd. With a registered capital of 50 million yuan and a total investment of 100 million yuan, this company engages in treatment that turns electronic and industrial wastes into harmless resources. The expected annual capacity is 30,000 tons. Now this company has signed the land contract with the Chemical Industrial Park and is making the first-phrase preparations.
As is known, being one of the major investors of this project, Taiwan Glory Peak Inc. has more than 20 years of mature technology of turning electronic wastes into resources. The construction of Taiding (Tianjin) Environment Technology Co., Ltd. will start in this September and it is expected to officially go into operation next January or February. With the world’s leading technology of Taiwan Glory Peak Inc., Taiding will set up a model project of recycling electronic resource in a pollution-free way. |
