| The Microelectronic Industrial Park of TEDA-30 Billion Yuan of Output Value in One Square Kilometer |
The Microelectronic Industrial Park of TEDA has a total planned area of 2.32 square kilometers, which has all been developed by now. The land of one square kilometer for phase I was developed in year 2000 and all of the enterprises met their expected outputs in 2003. By 2004, the enterprises had accomplished a gross industrial output value of 31.5 billion yuan, export value of 1.9 billion dollars, and tax revenue of 713 million yuan. Thus the Park achieved a miracle of accomplishing 30 billion yuan of gross industrial output value in one square kilometer of phase I and GDP per capita over 40,000 dollars. So the Park is enjoying the most dynamic economic development in Tianjin and in the north of China. The land of 1.32 square kilometers for phase II was put under construction in 2002 and has all been transferred by now. Many enterprises are now either constructing their factory buildings or doing preparatory work for production commencement. According to the investment of those enterprises, another output peak is expected to occur in the Park next year and the year after next.
Altogether 82 world-famous multinational companies in the electronic industry and supporting enterprises from 12 countries and regions have arrived at the Park, the total investment being 870 million dollars, with an average investment of over 10 million dollars/enterprise and 1,000 dollars/square meter. 47 overseas-funded enterprises account for the majority of the 82 enterprises with most of them being world-famous multinational companies in the electronic industry such as Samsung Mobile Phones, Samsung Monitor, Rohm Electronics, Hyundai Electronics, Alps, and Danaher, etc. |

| TEDA's Three Information Industrial Parks Identified among the First State-level Electronic and Information Industrial Parks |
China¡¯s Ministry of Information Industry issued a few days ago the Decision to Identify Such 31 Cities and Regions as Beijing Economic-Technological Development Zone as the First State-level Electronic and Information Industrial Parks. Thus 31 cities and regions have gained the status of the first state-level electronic and information parks. Four parks of Tianjin has been included in the group, and three of them are in TEDA, namely State-level Communications Industrial Park of Tianjin, State-level SMC Industrial Park of Tianjin, and State-level IC Industrial Park of Tianjin. They account for 1/10 of the total number of the first approved parks, which shows the powerful development of the electronic and information industry of TEDA. |

| Investment Service Center of West Zone of TEDA Unveiled |

Recently, the Investment Service Center of West Zone of TEDA was officially put into use. As a carrier for the west-ward extension of land, administration, industries and service of the East Zone (the mother area of TEDA), the Center covers an area of 23,000 square meters (construction area 10,400 square meters). It is consisted of 14 conference rooms (including one 120-person auditorium and two 30-person council chambers) and a series of government service desks such as business administration, construction, environment protection, human resources, work safety, law enforcement, public security, fire control and West Zone development. The sufficient conference space and open working environment guarantee both satisfactory services to the enterprises and highly efficient investment promotion. |

| West Zone of TEDA, a New Hotspot for Domestic and Overseas Investment |
The West Zone of TEDA has become an important platform for TEDA¡¯s industrial projects and a new hotspot for domestic and overseas investment. The West Zone focuses on high-tech modern manufacturing and processing industry. Now it already has over 30 enterprises in it with a total investment of over 800 million dollars. The average investment on each square meter of land is over 500 dollars. Thus the West Zone is taking the lead of the domestic manufacturing industry.
The projects in the West Zone now are mainly those of auto parts, machinofacture, and biopharmaceutical industries. With the arrival of such projects as Vestas wind power system, the new energy resources industry is taking shape. As is known, up to now, the West Zone has eight projects with their respective total investment of over 30 million dollars and two with their respective total investment of over 100 million dollars, the investment averaging over 26 million dollars/project. Among the projects, Kennametal of America, Vestas wind power system of Denmark, Kumho tire of South Korea, and AW automatic transmission etc. are all taking the lead in their industries in the world. |

| Jurong Hi-tech (Tianjin) Co., Ltd. Opens in TEDA |

Recently, the opening ceremony of Jurong Hi-tech (Tianjin) Co., Ltd. was held in TEDA. With a total investment of 12 million US dollars, the Company was founded in June, 2004 and mainly engaged in cell phone PCB production. Jurong Technologies Industrial Corp, the parent company of Jurong Hi-tech Tianjin, is a renowned electronics group in Singapore. Its investment in TEDA will surely beef up the development of local IT industry. |

| Kumho Asiana Group of South Korea Laying Foundation for its Tire Manufacturing Base in TEDA |
Kumho Asiana Group of South Korea laid foundation for its tire manufacturing base in TEDA a few days ago. Kumho Tire Tianjin Co., Inc. is established by Kumho Tires, subsidiary of Kumho Asiana Group of South Korea. Kumho Asiana Group is a famous multinational company of South Korea. Its business covers finance, trade, tire production, petrochemical industry, transportation, and civil aviation, etc. Investment of phase I of the Kumho project is 185 million dollars, and there will be a capital increase of 130 million dollars for phase II. The ultimate annual output will be 10.4 million radial tires. This project covers a total area of 310,000 square meters. Kumho Tires will commence the production of phase I in July next year. It also plans to invest 20 million dollars in establishing an R&D center in Tianjin with a staff of 300 or so in August. Kumho Tianjin will become headquarters of Kumho¡¯s overseas manufacturing base, an integration of tire research, development, production, and sales in the future. |

| Mitsui Chemicals of Japan Reinvests within the Chemical Industrial Park of TEDA |
Tianjin Cosmo Polyurethane Co., Ltd., one of whose investors is Mitsui Chemicals, Inc., the largest chemical corporation in Japan, recently signed a land use contract with the General Corporation of Chemical Industrial Park of TEDA. With a total investment of 258 million yuan and an area of 80,000 square meters the company¡¯s project will have an annual production capacity of 18,000-ton foaming polyether and 36,000-ton polyurethane resins, and an expected annual output value of 1.1 billion yuan after its formal operation. For the project the company will build a new facility, with its capital coming from its profits earned and the independent increase of investment by its Japanese investor.
It is introduced that as the project¡¯s investor, Japan¡¯s Mitsui Chemicals, Inc. was founded in 1912, and its main business involves petrochemicals and basic chemicals. In 1993 Sinopec Tianjin Petrochemical Company, Mitsui Chemicals Inc. and Chori Co., Ltd. established Tianjin Cosmo Polyurethane Co., Ltd. in TEDA. As its business continues expanding, the board of the company decided to set up another facility in TEDA. |

| Motorola's Tianjin Facility of Auto Electronics Going into Operation |
Phase I of the factory in which Motorola invested 60 million dollars for automotive electronics in Tianjin officially went into operation a few days ago. As is known, the new factory will focus upon such automotive electronic products as engine control units, automotive intelligent communications system, and automotive interior electronic and powertrain system.
According to Mr. Jiming, Director of the Engineering Department of the Asian-Pacific Region of Motorola Automotive, the new factory in Tianjin will be one of Motorola¡¯s global manufacturing bases and one of Motorola¡¯s most important factories besides the factory in South America. Moreover, the marketing strategy of Motorola automotive in China is to construct a well-established automotive electronic manufacturing base in China, and China is among the strategic markets of the world that have the greatest potential for development. |

| Construction of the New Factory for Hyundai Automotive Electronic Products Completed in TEDA |
The inauguration ceremony of the new factory of Hyundai Hi-Tech Electronics (Tianijn) Co., Ltd. was held in TEDA a few days ago.
Hyundai Group is a world-famous multinational company. It set up its factory with investment in TEDA in 1994. The electronics industry and the automotive industry are the leading industries of TEDA, and Hyundai Electronics is a combination of the two industries. With an area of 46,729 square meters and a building floorage of 14,300 square meters, the newly-built factory of Hyundai Hi-Tech Electronics (Tianijn) Co., Ltd. mainly supports enterprises such as Beijing Hyundai with its car audio, BWS, and other electronic products. |
