  • TEDA guarantees the power supplying without limiting electricity consuming by cutting the supplying

    In the situation of the shortage of power this summer because of the weak point in the regional power supplying network, how is the power supplying secured to the rapidly growing regions such as Binhai New Area and TEDA where many foreign invested manufacturers are located, and huge amount of power is required? We interviewed relative power supplying authority.

    Estimated by TEDA Power Company, there is a new growth in the power demand in TEDA, while charge increasing rate has reached 20%, that is estimated as 219MVA. At the same time, this year the major clients in TEDA like Motorola, Samsung Communication, Samsung Monitor, Toyota etc. showed strong increasing potential, therefore, the stable power supplying will be the key factor to ensure the economic growth of the whole area. TEDA has clearly promised the steady power supplying for our clients, who do not necessarily worry about it. Currently, TEDA is exploring new energy source to secure the supplying, together with relative contingency solution. TEDA adopts the strategy of in-advanced construction, in which huge investment is financed in power supplying infrastructure, in order to secure the stable supplying. On May 12, the major transformer of Tai Hua Road 35 KVA transforming substation located in the Southeast corner of cross of the 11th Avenue and Tai Hua Road was successfully charged. Recently, the companies like Intex Auto Parts, has used the power introduced from this station, which also services as back-up power source for other enterprises like Toyota.

    In 2003, the number of various projects completed by TEDA Power Company was 168, in which there are 3 new 35 KV transforming substation. This year, the Company will continue the construction of Tai Feng 110 KV transforming substation (namely NO. 2 Transforming Substation), and three 35 KV ones, which are invested around 200 million RMB. With these projects, the rapid increasing demand for the power will be satisfied by the new supplying capacity. With the construction and operation of more transforming substations, the security of TEDA power supplying network will be strengthened, and the whole layout will be more reasonable and economical, which will strengthen the emergency reaction capacity.

    Before the peak time of summer power consuming, TEDA Power Company has adopted a series of methods to secure the power supplying. For example, right after the spring festival holiday, the Company arranged inspection and maintenance work of the substations including transforming substations of No.1 110 KV, S35 KV, J35KV, H35KV, T35KV; switch stations of Area B, Tianjin Univ. Park, Zhong Hang, North 2nd phase; substations of Li Ming, standard workshop buildings, Kai Di; 12 overhead lines. Besides the thorough cleaning of the equipments, the Company also completely examined, rebuilt, and maintained the equipments. According to the statistics, during the maintenance of the equipments, there were more than 50 flaws and hidden troubles, which guaranteed the operation of the companies in TEDA.

    At the same time, the well-organized, reasonable designed ”°Power Supplying Measure and Accidents Estimation of TEDA Power Consuming Peak Time in Summer”±, with the endeavor of TEDA Power Company, has been basically completed, which indicates the following measures will be adopted by TEDA Power Company to guarantee the supplying: accelerating the projects of Han Bao and Hai Jing connection with Po Yang Road System, actively exploring new power source; strengthening loading monitoring, by taking the full advantage of automatic controlling system so as to monitor the loading of main transformers, and to make timely plan accordingly; with advantages of the side-loop loading, balancing the loading rate between the transformers, so as to keep the unbalancing loading rate below 10%; strengthening the temperature taking, cooling by winding, and with high-tech temperature taking and thermo imaging technology, emphasizing the temperature taking on the connection and touching points of the heavy loading equipments, in order to find and solve the problem in time. Etc.

    Recently, the newly published ”°Energy Supplying Price of TEDA, 2004”± also indicates the consideration of how to guarantee the power supplying in TEDA with the pricing lever, which regulates the different prices of electricity in TEDA during the peak, valley, and normal period time of consuming, so as to encourage the companies to lower the cost in a reasonable way by staggering the peak time.
