Brief Introduction

The event has generated strong interest from electronics assemblers, test and measurement companies as well as components exhibitors, especially from Japan, Korea, Singapore and China, including the Hong Kong SAR and Taiwan Province. Exhibitors that are present during Bohai Electronics Week 2005 include some of the most prominent manufacturers in China, and includes companies such as Assembleon, Omron, Saki, Senju, Henkel, Shimadzu, Epoch, L.Lab, OGP, Questar, Zebra, Samurai Spirits, Speedy Tech, and Wurth. It was the needs of such exhibitors seeking contacts with the large companies located in North China, a market with 27% of China¡¯s electronics industry output, that prompted the launch of Bohai Electronics Week.

The reason for these companies¡¯ interest in Bohai Electronics Week 2005 is the region¡¯s growing economic influence. Eleven of the country¡¯s 32 major cities are located within 500 kilometers of the area. Major cities in the Bohai Economic Ring include Beijing, Dalian, Yantai, Qingdao, Jinan and Shenyang. The combined population of Beijing and Tianjin, well known as north China¡¯s strongest consumer group, is more than 20 million. With the 2008 Olympic Games set to take place in Beijing, this new economic ¡°engine¡± will become more and more attractive to investors.

In order to facilitate trade deals, the exhibition features a Procurement Pavilion, where buyers can advertise their procurement needs for items such as components and sub-assemblies. Exhibitors will be able to meet these major buyers in the region and conduct business discussions. Major buyers that are present during Bohai Electronics week include IBM, General Electric, Panasonic, Sony, TMCOM, YAMAHA Electrical, Motorola, Furuno, AT&T, HP, IBM, Microsoft, Lenovo, Founder, Tongfang, Hisoft Teck, Nokia, Samsung Electronics, General Semiconductor, SOTEC, CTS Electronics, AVX ELECTRONICS, OTIS Elevator, AutoNet Electronics, Command Technology, Omron, Alps Dalian, Dianlian Daxian Group, Resoft Group, SUNYARD FTS, Neusoft Group, Hi-P Electronics, Tianjin Development Zone Zhonghuan Group, Dalian Hi-Think, and FULEDUN Communication Equipment.

The event¡¯s location in Tianjin means that participants will benefit from being in the center of the Bohai region. The city itself has a strong industrial foundation in more than 150 industrial sectors, especially in electronics, automobile, metallurgy, machinery, chemicals, textiles and pharmaceutical industrials. Recent government efforts have also made Tianjin a base for manufacturing of mobile and digital communication, digital audio & visual, micro-electronic and other high-tech products.
