Personal Achievements of Li Bojun , General Manager of Tianjin Samsung Electronic Co., Ltd.

When Mr. Li Bojun took office as the General Manager in September 1997, the enterprise was encountering enormous difficulties due to the Southeast Asian financial crisis and the severe shrinking of the domestic video player market. To overcome the difficulties, Mr. Li is resolutely determined to readjust the business strategy by sparing no efforts to explore the international market. After more than a year's efforts, the business of the company was not only reversed, but remarkably improved.

Mr. Li has contributed to the people of Tianjin not only with his business talent, but also with his enthusiasm in promoting and participating in various public welfare activities. In 2002 alone he donated 70,000 yuan to Luozhuangzi Central Elementary School of Ji County, Tianjin, for the construction of a central-heating system and a well. He also donated 40,000 yuan to the "PhD who pawned himself" of Tianjin University. All these activities have been highly appreciated by the society.

Mr. Li is leading his colleagues in their great efforts to develop their firm into a world-class one. It is believed that he will make new and greater contribution to the economic and social development of Tianjin.

Thanks to him, the company has been reversed from loss to profit within five years, becoming one of the big tax-paying enterprises of Tianjin. Its output has increased by 10 times, sales having tripled, and export income having increased by 2.8 times, ranking itself top 3 or 4 among the top 50 export enterprises of Tianjin.

The number of employees of the company has grown from several dozen to 1550. Furthermore, the company has indirectly provided more than 10,000 employment opportunities for local people, contributing to the peace and well-being of the community.

Meanwhile, the company has expanded its product line from video player alone to DVD, video monitoring system and video camera, filling in the manufacturing gaps of Tianjin.
