The park will be built into a comprehensive chemical base in north China with a diversified range of investment projects in oceanic, petrochemical and fine chemical industries.

Geographic Location and Layout of the Park
The Chemical Industrial Park is situated in Hangu, a coastal district of Tianjin, 61 km away from the center of Tianjin; 15 km away from TEDA; 20 km away from Tianjin Port. The initial area is 8 sq km, and will be extended to 20 sq km in the mid-long term plan and to 30 sq km in the long-term plan. The land area for possible planning covers the area from the east bank of Ji canal all the way to Bohai Bay.

Investments in the Park
By the end of December, 2006, 58 projects have been signed in the Chemistry Industry Park, with a total contracted investment of 940 million dollars. Chemistry Industry Park is going to become three biggest manufacture bases: the biggest Vitamin B1 manufacture base in the world, the largest carbon black manufacture base and the largest vesicant polystyrene manufacture base in China. Currently, four enterprises of the Fortune 500 have entered in. Projects of auto industry and electronic layout industry will invest in the Park one after another.

Infrastructure in the Park
Road: In the Chemical Industrial Park, Qixia Street, Zidong Street, Cuiwei Street, Bibo Street, Taishan Road, Huashan Road, Songshan Road and Hanbei Road have been constructed totaling 13 km and covering an area of 280,000 sq m.

Rain water drainage: In the Chemical Industrial Park, pipes for rain water drainage have been installed totaling 13 km. A temporary rain water pumping station with a discharging capacity of 6 m3/s has been constructed.

Sewage discharge: A 18 km long sewage pipe and 3 sewage pumping stations have been constructed with a daily discharging capacity of 30,000 m3/day. There is another sewage reservoir with a capacity of 650.3 m3.

Water supply: In the Chemical Industrial Park, a sluice pressure pumping station with daily water supply capacity of 20,000 tons and a 6 miles long water supply pipe have been constructed. By the end of 2003, 5.2 km of water supply pipeline will be added.

Power: In the industrial park, there is a 35KV transformer substation with a capacity of 2¡Á16,000kw. The power is from Beijing-Tianjin-Tanggu Power Grid, supplied voltages include 35KV, 10KV, 380KV and 220KV. The power line has been installed in a 1.5 sq km area.

Heat supply: The Chemical Industrial Park has introduced 30tons/hr steam supply from Tianjin Chemical Plant, which will reach 50tons/hr by 2003. 5 km of steam pipeline has been built and in 2003, 4 kms of steam pipeline will be added. At present, preliminary work to build 3¡Á35 tons/hr heat source plant is underway. It is estimated that it will be put to use in late 2004,.

Heating: In the Chemical Industrial Park, there is a heat exchange station with heat exchanging capacity of 10 tons/hr. With the expanding scale of the park, another heat exchange station of same scale will be built on the southern side of Qixia Street to meet the heating demand of enterprises. The present hot water pipeline for heating is 2¡Á5 km and in 2003, 2¡Á2 km pipeline will be added.

Telecommunication: At present, there is 8 km of 12-hole telecommunication pipeline. The industrial park, relying on Hangu Telecommunication Office, can provide digital service such as intra-city call, domestic and international long distance call, virtual customer switch, ISDN and DDN, FR, ADSL, IP, and information service such as 169, 163 and 2163.

Gas supply: It is planned to install natural gas pipeline from TEDA to the Chemical Industrial Park. The pipe's diameter is DN 400 (During the first phase, air pressure is 0.4 Mpa; in the long run, air pressure will be 0.8 Mpa).

Railway dedicated line: The layout of the railway dedicated line in and outside of the park has been completed and Tianjin Railway Sub-bureau has granted document of approval of an initial transportation capacity of 600,000 tons per year.

Land leveling: In the Chemical Industrial Park, land leveling of 3.08 km2 has been completed, and "seven supplies and one leveling" has been realized. After leveling, the field elevation is 2.20 meters measured against the sea level at Dagu, Tianjin.

Sewage treatment: 56 million m3 sewage reservoir and oxidation pond sewage treatment facilities are available with present sewage treatment capacity of 25,000 tons per day. At present, a Class II sewage treatment plant with a capacity of 150,000 tons per day is under construction to meet the need inside of the park to treat and discharge sewage in a centralized way.

Garbage disposal plant: With the sanitary burying technique, the garbage disposal plant is located in Ning Chegu, 13.5 km southwest of Hangu District. The designed daily-life garbage treatment capacity is 700 tons/day. The first phase of the project occupies 415 mu which can hold 2.84 million cubic meters of garbage. It is expected to be used for 10 years.
